Most of us opt to go to the easier route. We want everything to be done in an instant and in a shorter span of time. We tend to forget long term goals in pursuit of short term ones. Short term goals are okay, but forgetting about your long term aspirations can be misleading. Here are some common practices that actually put our body on short term goals while preventing the efficiency of long term goals.
1. Bodybuilding
- It is okay to build your muscle although dedicating yourself to growing overgrown muscles could be deterrent in the long term run. Remember all the supplements and food you need to take in order to achieve those kinds of muscles. Yes, you can say that you are a natural bodybuilder but you still relied on a high protein diet which can be a hindrance to real fitness in the long run.
2. Being thin
- Being thin is already not a sign of good health. Although it is really popular nowadays, i personally don't recommend adhering in this kind of physique. Unless you are really reaping benefits in that kind of physique, you should monitor closely whether you are already overly thin as this can cause your body to be weaker in many aspects as days go by.
3. Supplements
I have nothing against supplements but I believe that going natural is the best way to go. Supplements can give you nutrients that most food are capable of giving in the right amount. I agree that nature knows best.
These three are common misconceptions where people are lured. They are lured into the trap of being able to achieve fitness in a short term basis. Although they really promise fitness, it is only in a short amount of time.

Why people fail in fitness
Time and time again, we've been lured into so many fat loss or weight loss regimen to actually help us get rid of fat and lose weight. The problem is, it isn't working out in the long run. Why? After achieveing our fitness goals, we forget about it in the long run, especially if we look fit anyway. We should take note that fitness doesn't only mean looking fit but also feeling fit and moving fit. Having a beautiful body doesn't necessarily mean that one is healthy. Here's five of my reasons why people fail in fitness:
1. Lack of determination
- People who lack the determination to lose fat usually doesn't even reach their goals. This is the most popular reason and the only stumbling block for lazy people out there.
2. Lack of continuity
- Once your fit, it doesn't mean that you should already stop doing things that make you fit. You should still exercise regulary and eat right to be able to maintain your fitness.
3. Lack of effort
- Some people are so dependent on supplements that they tend to ignore the real effects of some supplements to their health. Some people doesn't like to undergo the only way to fitness- through dedication and hardwork. Fitness doesn't happen overnight.
4. Lack of knowledge
- Some people don't lose weight or don't maintain their desired level of fitness because they don't have enough knowledge to actually do it. They don't know the right exercises, the right attitude, and the right diet. Things like this blog should help people with information on being fit.
5. Lack of willpower
- This may sound stupid but yes, you need a lot of willpower to will yourself to do things to make you fit. Keep in mind that exercising everyday, eating right regularly, and keeping things natural are no easy tasks. We have to constantly motivate ourselves to do these things and then make them a habit. Remember: We are what we repeatedly do.
