Most of us opt to go to the easier route. We want everything to be done in an instant and in a shorter span of time. We tend to forget long term goals in pursuit of short term ones. Short term goals are okay, but forgetting about your long term aspirations can be misleading. Here are some common practices that actually put our body on short term goals while preventing the efficiency of long term goals.
1. Bodybuilding
- It is okay to build your muscle although dedicating yourself to growing overgrown muscles could be deterrent in the long term run. Remember all the supplements and food you need to take in order to achieve those kinds of muscles. Yes, you can say that you are a natural bodybuilder but you still relied on a high protein diet which can be a hindrance to real fitness in the long run.
2. Being thin
- Being thin is already not a sign of good health. Although it is really popular nowadays, i personally don't recommend adhering in this kind of physique. Unless you are really reaping benefits in that kind of physique, you should monitor closely whether you are already overly thin as this can cause your body to be weaker in many aspects as days go by.
3. Supplements
I have nothing against supplements but I believe that going natural is the best way to go. Supplements can give you nutrients that most food are capable of giving in the right amount. I agree that nature knows best.
These three are common misconceptions where people are lured. They are lured into the trap of being able to achieve fitness in a short term basis. Although they really promise fitness, it is only in a short amount of time.
